A supportive community
College life offers community, support and excellence.
Not only will you be living in the company of friends, peers, mentors and leaders but you will participate in a thriving, warm and supportive academic community.
You will have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from diverse backgrounds which will enrich your university experience. You make friends from the moment you arrive and give each other the support that helps you achieve academic success.
The University Colleges are committed to the development of academic excellence.
As a member of College you will receive excellent academic support. You will take part in a comprehensive tutorial program run by resident and non-resident tutors. These will complement your university lectures and tutorials. You will find these groups smaller and more personal as they encourage you in discussion and active learning.
Your horizons will be challenged through the diverse visiting speaker programs offered in the Colleges. Living in College will provide you with the opportunity to interact with international scholars and leading academics. You will be able to apply for one of the many scholarships or bursaries offered by most of the Colleges.
College life provides pastoral care for every College member.
From the time you commence College life you will find College staff and tutors promote your personal and academic growth by providing pastoral care. They will help you make the transition to the demands of tertiary studies a positive experience. This will include the running of structured orientation programs before the start of the academic year.
You will find on-going support to develop your full potential throughout your College years. Staff and tutors are available to give advice and information and provide counselling in the time of need. Their goal is to promote your welfare in a secure and supportive environment.
