University of Melbourne Residential Colleges and Halls
Comparative Costs 2008
Students who choose to reside in college enter into a way of life that enriches the university experience. While there are many similarities shared by the colleges, each has its unique and distinguishing features. Colleges vary considerably in size. Student rooms range in style from contemporary to Victorian, according to the age of the individual college. Most colleges offer scholarship assistance but the nature and extent of this varies between colleges. The facilities and academic programs of the colleges also vary, as do the other activities that characterise college life.
The following table provides comparative information about the costs (for the year 2008) associated with living in the colleges of the University of Melbourne. Applicants are advised to consider this information in conjunction with information provided by the intercollegiate website as well as in the websites and promotional literature of each college, and to look for comparison at the University of Melbourne's Cost of Living Estimates at www.services.unimelb.edu.au/finaid/planning/cost of living/summary.html.
