The Intercollegiate Pool
The purpose of the Intercollegiate Pool is to ensure that applicants who have not been offered residency at the College of their first choice can be considered for a place in another College in a fair and orderly manner and according to the applicant's order of preferences.
All applications from students who have been offered a place at the University of Melbourne (including the Victorian College of the Arts), R.M.I.T. University - City Campus and Pharmacy College who have not been offered a place at the College of their first preference will be sent to the Pool. While some Colleges may consider applications from other institutions, such applications will not be sent to the Pool. Students should consult the information included elsewhere on this website to identify the institutions from which each College is prepared to consider applications.
Colleges that send applications to the Intercollegiate Pool will inform applicants of the status of their applications, explain the operation of the Pool and provide advice to students and their parents.
The Pool Office will pass applications to Colleges with vacancies as quickly as is possible to enable those Colleges to select or reject such applications. Offers of places are made by individual Colleges and not by the Pool Office. The Pool Office will answer enquiries about which College is currently holding an application. In the situation where the Pool is unable to facilitate the placement of a student in a College, the application will be returned to the College of the student's first preference.
In 2008, the Intercollegiate Pool will be open to the public from Tuesday 22 January. The Pool Office will be located at Trinity College, Royal Parade, Parkville and may be contacted by
