The Jesuit spirit of bold but critical engagement with the world shapes the Newman College experience. A comprehensive tutorial program, mentoring, and scholarships encourage a standard of excellence in studies, while music, drama, art, sport, community service and spiritual life promote the variety of gifts in members of the College. Student life also offers friendships, connections and the rich opportunities of its gathering of energy and talent. Two thirds of all students are supported by an extensive scholarship and bursary program, which, along with our competitive fee structure, enables us to achieve diversity in our student cohort and a significant representation from regional Victoria and Australia. Nearly a third of the student body is engaged in graduate and post graduate studies.
